LUMBERTON, N.C. — Marine veteran and Lumbee Tribe member State Representative Jarrod Lowery released the following statement:

"In recent weeks, I have been approached with the prospect of representing the new 8th congressional district. I am truly humbled by the suggestion. I strongly believe rural North Carolina needs effective leadership in Washington.
